2014 Primetime Emmy: Nomination

2014EmmyIt’s that time of the year again!! Nope nope, not the academy, it’s just the good old Primetime Emmy :D I’m always excited for Emmys but lately with the recent improvement of programing quality (fine, dramas and comedies), i can’t help but to feel more enthusiastic to see which programs or actors or actresses would get the honor. This year the awarding ceremony Seth Meyers is hosting! I like that dude on SNL but i never saw his late night show so far. Anyways, some shows has been putting up serious promotional materials as they were vying for a nomination. Mad Men, which is coming to its finale season, did a series of cool period inspired ads for their FYC advertisement. Breaking Bad is still in the running with their unforgettable finale. A pleasant surprise for me is Orange is The New Black finally becoming one of the contenders for….comedy (though i personally think its a little too intense to be called comedy). I wonder if it would be able to dethroned 4 year consecutive winner, Modern Family. Continue reading

Orange is The New Black: Season 02 (2014)

I have this habit of watching tv series in binge instead of watching it weekly. The anticipation is killing me, that’s why I have not watch this season’s Game of Thrones yet. Instead let me spaz a bit about the return of my personal favorite series: Netflix’s Orange Is The New Black. (Fair warning, TLDR, possible SPOILERS-ridden post ahead!)

AwardTalk: The Red Carpet of 2014 Golden Globe

AwardTalk-GGI watched the golden globe earlier this morning (it aired in early morning in my timezone) and had quite a good time watching it, although it was a bit bland. But i sadly miss the red carpet, which is actually the ultimate reason why i am watching an award ceremony in the first place.

But thank god for internet. By lunch i have seen the looks of the stars on the red carpet and i can compile this wonderfully indulgent post about it, naming my favorites and what not.

Don’t worry, i include the male too :D

AwardTalk: 2013 Primetime Emmy

E03So yeah, i always excited about the Awards season, i even watch MTV Movie Award  and Teen Choice just for having fun mocking the winners. So i’ve been anticipating for this year Emmy, just because Neil Patrick Harris is hosting. I enjoyed him in 2009 Emmy, but this one feel rather boring compared to that one. Maybe it was because Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, the Goddesses of comedy, sort of stole the show right at the beginning! This Emmy also have some of funny moments in the speeches imho, Meritt Weaver’s shortest speech ever (11 words: “Thanks so much. Thank you so much. I gotta go. Bye.”), Tony Hale and Julia Louis-Dreyfus speeches, and of course the double-entendres filled speech by Michael Douglas for his Liberace win.

Anyway, i still like this year’s Emmy compared to last years’. But everyone who know me know i’m only watching it for the Comedy category. Because a) the non-comedy i watched almost never nominated, or even if they were, they never won (eg: Game of Thrones), b) if the last few years is correct we all know it was gonna be Claire Danes winning again, despite so much win i still have zero interest in Homeland though.

So, without further ado, Continue reading
