TA AV MIG (Undress Me)
Short | 15 min | 2012 | Sweden
Dir: Victor Lindgren | Writer: Victor Lindgren, Jana Bringlöv Ekspong
At Night. Two people – a man and a woman – meet. Above all else, their attraction for one another is palpable. Their attraction and their desire to kiss, and more. (from Berlinale excerpt)
One of the my favorite short from this year Q! Film Festival is this year winner of Teddy Awards for best short from the 63rd Berlinale.
Mikaela, a transwoman, intrigued and piqued Han’s curiosity. Soon their encounter turn into a game of “i’ll show you mine, if you show me yours”. He asked her to show him her breast and later her cunt, while in return she asked him to show her his penis. The talk turn from erotic curiosity to straightforward borderline on rude inquiries. The film bravely explores the relatively unknown world of transgender from a refreshing point of view and unabashed exploration of genitals. Nudity is explicitly found but never erotic, its there to be explored rather to be showcase. Mikaela was first seen as object of desire before an object of curiosity, but as she’s stripped from get layers upon layers, we question who become more insecure upon close scrutiny.
