SOME BOYS DON’T LEAVE

Some Boys Don’t Leave tells a post-break up story of a boy and a girl. Because sometimes it’s just hard to move on… literally and figuratively.
It was very intriguing to see the boy (Jesse Eisenberg) just there in the hallway of the Apartment, playing with a tennis ball or write on his journal or do sit up or push up but he does not move into another room of the apartment. The weirdest thing was the girl (Eloise Mumford) was annoyed by the boy but rather unperturbed by it. Their relationship was rather unclear at first. It made me guess what is happening there and what happened to these two people! Subtle hints were dropped and more signifiers surfaced. There were unexpected tender moments within the short, as the boy is simply still holding on to what could’ve been, but the girl is ready for a new chapter in her life.
A full feature film titled Light Years has been made based on the short and will be released sometime in 2013.
